Learn to do your first chin up

Learn the physical skills you want to do, with a program that gets you there. Get better, have fun, and see what your body can do.

You've saved the tips. Now get out of the gram and into the real world.

What this is: our manifesto

One skill. Learned together.

We coach women in the skills they want to learn, one skill at a time. Each program fits alongside the training you already do, twenty minutes at a time, and gives you a little extra help with whatever you're working towards. Do it on your own schedule, alongside a group of women around the world working on the same thing.

Your feed has enough advice. We'd rather just walk with you.

This isn't limited to one skill, or even to the gym. Wherever women are picking up a sport, competing in it, trying to get stronger at it, and don't have real coaching or a community around them to get past the plateaus, this same method applies. A netball shot, a penalty kick, a reliable serve, a swim stroke that holds up over distance.

One clear path, not another tip to save.

You're already out there. Hitting, swimming, serving, shooting, playing, practising, strategising, winning some and losing some, and wanting to keep getting better at it. We're here for that. Real skills, learned together, one small win at a time, until you surprise yourself.

Real skills, built one small win at a time.

Move your body well for the rest of your life.

How we came together, and what we both believe.

Tor walked into Cris's group wanting a chin up, having saved every drill and done almost none of them. Cris had spent years coaching women through skill progressions and kept seeing the same thing: women who wanted to get stronger but had no path to follow. We soon found we wanted the same thing. Neither of us is motivated by workouts for the sake of it. We're motivated by having a goal, a program and a path to follow, and the feeling of getting there. That's what Train Unassisted is built on, and it's what every coach who joins us will bring to their own skill.

The Path

How each week runs, from the sessions to homework.

  • An onboarding week to get set up, from Monday 9 November
  • One to two 20 minute sessions a week from Coach Cris, each with a short intro, warm up, skill work and three support exercises
  • Coach's Corner, a weekly tip and reflection from Cris
  • A weekly play challenge, optional and meant to be fun
  • Weekly homework: one small thing to practise between sessions.
02

The Toolkit

The maps and trackers that keep you on course.

  • Your journey map, showing all five stages
  • Weekly planner and workout tracker
  • Baseline assessment and reflection prompts
  • A repeat week built in, for when a stage needs more time
  • A weekly checkpoint, so you can see how far you've come.
03

The Community

A WhatsApp group beside you through the hard weeks.

  • A WhatsApp group with the other founding members
  • Women working on the same skill at the same time, which is what gets you through the plateaus.
04

The Milestone

A day of coaching with Cris, in Sydney or live online.

  • A day of coaching and inspiration. Cris fine tunes your technique and sets your next goal, you meet the other members, see what everyone's working on, and have fun
  • In person in Sydney, or live online if you're somewhere else
  • Included in Plus and Premium. $149 if you join at Entry
  • Technique coaching, hands-on, wherever you've got to.
05

The Next Step

Where the journey goes after the 10 weeks.

  • Keep the momentum going. One less resistance band. Five sets of five instead of four sets of four. Your first strict rep.
  • Keep going at your own pace, with your coach setting your next goal, at $49 a month
  • And when you're ready for a new challenge, there's more to come: muscle up, handstand, L-sit and pistol squat.

Why we're founding this

I wanted an unassisted chin up, and then I found Cris and her group, and I've been going every week since, bit by bit growing real strength and actually hitting milestones I didn't expect. And that's when I started thinking about all the other goals I could hit if I did a bit more than once a week. That's honestly why we're building this. Because more women want this, but we're all so bombarded by Instagram, saving every tip and never actually doing anything with it. Get out of the gram and into the real world. It's genuinely magic. Am I there yet? Almost, so close, I'll get there!

Tor, co-founder

I've spent years coaching people, and one thing has always stood out to me. The art of progressions and coddling the ego through the process is extremely important in fostering a person who can commit long-term to a goal. Most people genuinely want to get stronger. They want to move better. They want to finally do that thing they've always said, 'I wish I could do that.' The problem is they don't have a path. What we're really building is confidence, capability, and the belief that you're stronger than you thought. I can't wait to see what surprises you.
